CHARTER MEMBER - CARITHIA GRIFFIN WINBUSH

Mrs. Carithia Griffin Winbush is the sole surviving charter member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church.  At the time the church was chartered, Mrs. Winbush was eighteen (19).  While her sister Ruth Griffin (now Jones) was a member of Metropolitan when the church was chartered, at the age of sixteen (16) she did not meet the age requirements for becoming a charter member.  Mrs. Winbush and her Ruth Griffin Jones both live in Williamsburg, Virginia.

As the collection of pictures below will show, both Mrs. Winbush and her sister, Ruth, were very active in the ministry of Metropolitan Baptist Church from its inception.
